Betsy DeVos On The Importance Of School Choice, Parental Rights

If you have a child then you know how important it is for them to get the best education possible. While some children thrive in the world of public education, others don’t have the same success. As we’ve learned from an early age, there are always multiple paths to success. Betsy DeVos is the newest Secretary of Education. She was hand selected by President Donald Trump in order to become the outsider voice that he prized for leading the education reform path that so many conservatives believe in. Betsy DeVos has spent her entire adult life working toward bring education reform to states all around the country and now she’ll have the chance to do it at the federal level.

 

Betsy DeVos is, in a word, a prominent reformer. She believes in ushering in change to the world through positive acts and hard work. In fact, Betsy DeVos and her entire family all believe in the idea and that has helped them all to become so successful in their specific fields. For Betsy DeVos, education always drew her in and for the past thirty years, she has been working hard to make school choice an option for students throughout the United States of America. While she has never held a federal position in her career, DeVos has made great progress as a private citizen operating out of the state of Michigan.

 

As the Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos will be in charge of fixing the educational system for everyone and not just students who are attending public school, though they are just as important as anyone else. What Betsy DeVos believes in, and it is an idea echoed by conservative colleagues throughout the government, is the right for a parent to choose what it is that works best for their child — thus our introduction above.

 

We know that our taxes go toward paying for the public school system, but for parents whose children thrive in private schools, shouldn’t there be tax relief for them as well? Betsy DeVos believes in re-arranging funds for public education so that these funds are made available to private schools and chartered schools as well. Essentially, Betsy DeVos wants all students to be treated equally no matter where it is that they go to get their education. Betsy DeVos is the first prominent conservative federal employee in a long time to give the conservative platform a boost in a new and important direction.
